7 New Paint Colors Give Your Home a Fresh Look in 2024

  1. BLUE

    The color of nature fills homes with a serenity like no other. Light denim blue with gray undertones, for instance, means peaceful spaces. Blue Nova, a mix of violet and blue hints of adventure. It takes inspiration from a new star appearing in space. It blends modern and traditional styles in interiors. Vivid teals, watery aquas, and turquoise shades will also be everywhere. Cracked Pepper, a deep, nearly black charcoal color, exudes sophistication. Bay Brown, the color of coffee, comes front and center in warm leather upholstery, wood furniture, and the retro 1960s and 1970s styles.

    Muted, soft purple is great when combined with pink, blue and green. Hazy Lilac is also trending.

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director at Pantone Color Institute, says peach reflects the yearning for closeness and connection, and radiates warmth and elegance. This bright, gentle hue adds softness to a room. Brilliant, unapologetic red, meanwhile, will shine in all its splendor this year. Coral and pink, or teacup rose, will rule as well.

  5. YELLOW AND ORANGE

    Amber, a blend of lustrous yellow and orange, is inviting and captivating. Earthy terracotta color persimmon, with its comforting appeal, energetic vibe and soft look, is also a color of choice along with apricot.

  6. EARTHY GREEN

    Nature in all its glory shines in earthy greens, which are poised to make a splash this year. British brand Graham & Brown named Viridis, or midtown green, color of the year. This welcoming, warm hue is great for entertaining areas and entryways.

  7. DEEP OLIVE GREEN

    Dutch Boy chose a deep, comforting , elegant Ironside color of the year. Its grounding, deep olive hue is great for bedrooms, dens and living rooms This nature-based color exudes relaxation and restoration.

  8. WARM NEUTRALS

    These, along with off-white and buttery hues, continue to make their presence felt. One example is Limitless, a honey beige hue with the qualities of a primary color and the versatility of neutrals.

  9. BEIGE, GRAY, SERENE BLUE, YELLOW AND GREEN

    The colors above work well with patterns and sculptural furniture at home. These warm neutrals tone down the coldness of LED and other sources of lighting.
